This former branch of Lloyd's Bank, built in the 1920s, was part-designed by the son of the architect of The Liverpool Union Bank, almost opposite at 43 - 47 Bold Street. Separated by Grayson the Elder's design by 35 years, the later design is much plainer, white Portland stone with minimal decoration. The corner is flattened, containing one grand window with a faux balcony. Above this window is a Liver Bird medallion. The corner doorway is flanked by a pair of decorative window panels, each nautically themed and surmounted by a delicate relief of Lloyd's prancing horse. All the dressings are credited as being probably by Herbert Tyson Smith.
